Embark on a captivating journey from Cusco to the picturesque village of Chinchero, located approximately 30 minutes away. This small town preserves the traditional Inca street layout and features several colonial-era buildings. From Chinchero, we commence our mountain biking adventure towards Lake Huaypo, passing through scenic Andean landscapes. Our route then leads us to the archaeological site of Moray, renowned for its concentric circular terraces believed to have served as agricultural laboratories during the Inca period. Continuing our exploration, we visit the colonial village of Maras and the adjacent salt mines, where we can observe the traditional salt extraction process that has been practiced since Inca times. We conclude our circuit with a scenic descent to the village of Urubamba, nestled at the base of the Sacred Valley along the Vilcanota River. Our journey ends with a return trip to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 PM.
