The Palccoyo full-day tour starts in Cusco (3,420m / 11 220 ft). The tour guide will pick up the group between 4:00 am. to 4:30 am, followed by a three-and-a-half-hour drive through rural villages on the way to Palccoyo (4,700m / 15,419 ft). Then breakfast will be waiting for you before starting your adventure nearby Ausangate Mountain. Our tour guides are highly knowledgeable about the local area and culture, so feel free to ask them questions.
After breakfast, you will begin your trip to Palccoyo. The tour will take about two hours and includes a gentle walk around the rainbow mountains and rocky mountains. Also, you will have the chance to see local people living with the llamas and alpacas. After you enjoy the beautiful scenery and take amazing photos, you will go back to the bus and drive to the nearest town to enjoy a local lunch in a local restaurant.
Following lunch, you will conclude by returning to Cusco and dropping you near the Main Plaza ( Plaza de Armas).

 Is Palcoyo worth it?

Highly recommend a day tour to Palcoyo from Cusco; however, you need to acclimate 2 -3 days in Cusco before going on this trip. It is not a strenuous hike, but the elevation makes it challenging.

How long is Palcoyo hike?

After driving 3.5 hrs from Cusco to Palcoyo, there are 1.8 miles. An average hiker can do it from bus stop to the mountains in 1 hr, Hike up to palcoyo mountains star at 13.779 ft (4200 m) and finish at 14.107 ft (4300 m).

What do you wear to Palcoyo?

Hiking shoes are essential for the trail, even hike is not long, it is better to use hiking boots. It is sometimes slippery and wet. Hiking pants, polyester shirts, warm sweaters, and rain jackets are indispensable; all year is pretty colder during the first hours of the day.

Early in the morning, from 4:00 am to 8:00 am, the temperature is around 41°F (5°C). After 8:00 am, the temperature increases to approximately 65 (18°C).
