When to Book

There are 2 seasons in which you can travel, the rainy season and the dry season. The most common is the dry season which runs from May to November, due to its clear skies and pleasant weather for hiking, and you will also be able to observe wildlife better.
The rainy season runs from December to April and is perfect for those who prefer to avoid crowds and see beautiful green landscapes.

2 Days Tambopata Tour

Day 1:

After your arrival in Puerto Maldonado and a short visit to the city, you will take a boat to the Amazon Garden Lodge. You will take a 2 to 3 hour walk through the jungle and to viewpoints.

Day 2:

Early in the morning you will begin your walk through the jungle where you will visit the parrot and macaw clay lick, and at the end you will return to Puerto Maldonado.

3 Days Tambopata Tour

Day 1:

You will be transferred to the lodge, after your lunch you will walk around the area and see alligators.

Day 2:

You will go on an excursion to Lake Sandoval, and on the way back to the hostel you will have the option of kayaking or ziplining.

Day 3:

They will have a cape where they will walk on a bridge with beautiful views, and then return to Puerto Maldonado.

Safety Recommendations

Vaccinations: Travelers should have yellow fever and tetanus vaccinations before their trip to the jungle. Also consult your doctor about other vaccinations or precautions before your trip.
Insect Repellent: Pack a good mosquito repellent, especially during the morning and evening.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated at all times, as the humidity and heat of the jungle can quickly cause dehydration.
Appropriate clothing: Appropriate clothing should be light, and it is recommended to wear long sleeves and long pants to protect yourself from mosquito bites. Don’t forget protection such as a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
Local Guides: It is important that you follow the guide’s instructions and avoid straying from the group. The jungle can be confusing and you may become disoriented if you do not follow the path set out by the guide.

We stay in eco-lodges, which offer basic amenities such as beds, private bathrooms, and meals. You will have an authentic experience without sacrificing your comfort.

Yes, our tours are safe, but it is important that you still follow safety recommendations and children are supervised by an adult at all times. It is also a great way for them to learn about nature and its conservation.

What to bring:

  • Binoculars (essential)
  • Flashlight with spare bulb and extra batteries
  • Sleeping bag (in case you want to sleep in a tent).

In Tambopata the climate is tropical, the temperature varies between 25°C and 32° C, and at night it is cooler, especially during the dry season. The humidity is high all year round.

It is not a requirement to be in special physical condition, however, it is advisable to be in good health to fully enjoy the walks and activities of the tour.

We have first aid kits available. In case of an emergency, we follow safety protocols to evacuate to the nearest health center in Puerto Maldonado.

It is not safe to find internet connection due to the remote location. It is preferable that during your trip you disconnect and enjoy the natural surroundings of the jungle.

There are rivers and lakes where you can swim with permission and under the supervision of a guide. It is important that you follow the guide’s instructions as there are areas with dangerous wildlife or strong currents.

The food is local, prepared with ingredients from the region. There are also vegetarian options that can be adapted to dietary needs. These specifications must be made in advance to the agency for proper organization.

There is a chance of having these sightings, however, they are very rare due to their elusive nature. But it is very likely to see other species such as birds, monkeys, alligators, etc.

Swimming skills are not required for the water activities on the tour. Our team will provide you with life jackets and the guides are trained to provide you with safety and first aid.

Yes, you can bring your own photography equipment, including drones. But before doing so, please find out about local and lodge regulations regarding permits and use of these, so as not to cause disturbance to wildlife and other visitors.

There are lodges that have electricity generated by solar panels or generators, bring extra batteries or portable chargers to avoid inconveniences.
